Off-Road Shocks:
Advanced Off-Road Technical Features

Over the years, Bilstein has remained at the leading edge of off-road racing shock absorber development. In addition to implementing their patented single tube, high gas pressure shock design, Bilstein has developed new technologies specifically for off-road racing application. Bilstein is committed to maintaining their position of leadership in the constant evolution of off-road racing. The following are several Bilstein technical features:
Bypass Adjusters Working Piston Head Bypass Tubes
All Bilstein bypass shocks are position sensitive and include external Variable Flow-Metering Check Valve adjusters to quickly and easily change the damping rates. With positive and negative adjustability, these durable long-life adjusters can fine tune the  rebound and compression rates independently. Bilstein has patented various elements of their working piston head which delivers exact damping control. For off-road, Bilstein has added high flow features to reduce inherent harshness. This piston uses powder metal technology and the valving discs are spring steel for long life performance. Bilstein bypass shocks are custom made, which enables the external tube locations to meet each racer's specifications. For the utmost in fine-tuned control, bypass shocks can be used as a secondary suspension by providing adjustments to the ride area independent of the full rebound and compression strokes.
